Family-Owned Motorcoach Company sees incredible results

Our client is a family owned, women run transportation company in Southern California. Based just outside of Los Angeles, the company’s leadership has been active in the American Bus Association, United Motorcoach Association, NTA, Student Youth Travel Association and many other industry affiliations. Their fleet includes almost twenty 47, 54 and 56 passenger coaches and luxury sprinters.

In 2012, the company management identified their need for a consistent, focused approach to capture more business from the travel trade - tour operators, packaged travel planners, regional receptive operators and meeting/incentive planners. Their leadership called upon Fire Starter Brands to help them build new relationships with trade buyers; first, by signing up to join sales missions and targeted direct mail campaigns. Seeing great response, on boarding dozens of new accounts, learning from our company leadership and continuing these efforts through 2017, they then recognized a new challenge. Growing this segment would require a more consistent approach and, while they’re amazing at running a bus company, they simply didn’t have the people, management tools, pro-active sales skills or the time to build more relationships and deliver the follow up needed to expand this market. 

That’s when they asked Fire Starter Brands to represent them in the trade. Since starting our work in June 2018, here are a few of the achievements:

  • More than 45 rate requests & new bookings

  • New leads valued at more than $110,000

  • Face-to-face presentations made with more than 400 decision making contacts 

  • Doubled the number of appointment requests from trade shows attended including the SYTA Annual Conference & ABA Marketplace
